At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Thermal Design and Analysis Lead, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the success of our space vehicles by designing and analyzing thermal systems that meet the demands of space travel.
Key Responsibilities:- Own the delivery of large-scale thermal analysis solutions and partner with engineers across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
- Serve as a mentor to other team members, guiding them in the design and development of thermal systems and components.
- Research and lead the adoption of new technologies to improve thermal management and reduce system complexity.
- Deliver high-level, multi-system architecture analysis that define the direction for the team and partner organizations to solve complex problem sets.
- BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in design and analysis of aerospace thermal systems.
- Strong understanding of thermal and fluid mechanics, with experience in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with thermal modeling tools such as SINDA/FLUINT or Thermal Desktop.
- Ability to mentor and guide other engineers in proactive and constructive ways.
- Ability to build trust and maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in an engineering discipline.
- Previous technical lead experience.
- Experience in propulsion budget development of space vehicles going through mission timelines.
- Experience with modeling propulsion fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change).
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
