Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Ultra Clean Technology is seeking a talented Intern Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Hayward, CA.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist our manufacturing team in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing practices, assembly prints, and bill of materials, and will be able to create manufacturing-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the manufacturing engineer portion of the system build.
- Prepare and/or modify work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
- Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
- Confer with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in an effort to streamline build processes and procedures.
- Inspect completed systems; partner with manufacturing and quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Support project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Investigate customer or internal issues, determine the nature and extent of the problem, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Evaluate and process engineering change orders.
- Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position; or
- Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
- Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.

The ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp is required. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is also required. The ability to move arms, hands, and fingers is required. The ability to sit for sustained periods is required. Required to wear personal protective equipment. Prolonged sitting with some standing and bending intermittently during work hours. Subject to interruptions.

Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
Ultra Clean Technology is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes diversity in the workplace. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $20.18 and $26.83/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
