Residential Property Preservation Specialist

About the Role:
The Salvation Army, a reputable non-profit organization, is seeking a highly skilled Residential Property Preservation Specialist to join our team in Pasco, Florida.
As a key member of our Domestic Violence Shelter Program, you will be responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the beautification of our landscape and maintain the overall condition of our properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine building maintenance activities, including minor plumbing repairs and carpentry work to ensure our facilities remain safe and functional.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on Salvation Army vehicles, monitoring and replenishing fluid levels to ensure they remain in optimal condition.
- Maintain the grounds, including mowing grass, trimming hedges, blowing leaves, and collecting debris to create a welcoming environment for our guests.
- Sweep, vacuum, strip, mop, and wax floors, as well as sweep sidewalks to keep our facilities clean and safe.
- Assemble and move office furniture, ensuring our workspace remains organized and efficient.
- Monitor building and grounds activities to ensure security and maintain a safe environment for our guests.
- Drive a truck to pick up materials and repair items needed for maintenance work.
- Clean surroundings after each repair job, collecting tools and leaving the area neat and clean.
- Monitor lighting and change light bulbs as needed to ensure our facilities remain well-lit and secure.
- Maintain all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to the Maintenance Department.
- Drive a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up materials, supplies, donations, mail, and other essential items.
- Perform other related work as required to support the Maintenance Department.
What We're Looking for in You:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of supplies, materials, etc., weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily, with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather and environmental factors.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
