We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Professional to join our team at Delta-T Group Inc. in Alexandria, VA. As a Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- Communicate effectively with individuals' families, members of their IDT, day program, and other service providers.
- Instruct, support, and participate in household tasks, including cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, and other daily living activities.
- Prepare food according to developed menus, menu protocols, and individual preferences.
- Assist in developing daily living skills by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and healthcare needs.
- Transport individuals and/or provide mobility training to assist individuals in attending appointments, community rehabilitation programs, and other activities.
- Attend staff meetings, training in-services, house, and program meetings as instructed.
- Ensure compliance with VOAC program requirements, environment-specific rules, and regulations from all monitoring entities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience in a residential setting supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with individuals who are medically fragile and/or have physical limitations.
