Position Overview
Aptive Resources is in search of a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric/Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. In this role, you will focus on delivering exceptional nursing care to individuals facing mental health challenges or psychiatric emergencies. Your expertise will be essential in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and support patients' mental health requirements.

Work Schedule
Our nursing staff may work eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12)-hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status assessments, to determine patients' mental health needs and risks. Collaborate with psychiatrists and psychologists to create tailored care plans.
  • Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor their effects, and educate patients and families about proper usage and potential side effects.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Implement various therapeutic techniques, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral management strategies to foster a supportive environment.
  • Education: Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources.
  • Collaborative Care: Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and participate in treatment planning meetings.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in electronic health record systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Crisis Intervention: Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and coordinating necessary referrals for additional care.
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state.
  • CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented approach with a focus on collaborative patient care.
  • Successful completion of any required background checks.
