You will report directly to the Service Manager.

Compensation Package:

  • Hourly pay ranges from $17 to $24 based on experience, with opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a comprehensive range of skilled automotive repair tasks, from minor tune-ups to extensive engine overhauls.
  • Conduct thorough inspections on vehicles to identify all existing issues.
  • Diagnose vehicles to determine necessary corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ensure the shop is cleaned daily.
  • Communicate necessary parts to the Service Advisor to facilitate repairs.
  • Perform road tests on vehicles.
  • Deliver vehicles to vendors and foster strong relationships with them.
  • Utilize diagnostic scanners to retrieve error codes and identify potential vehicle issues.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Your efforts will directly influence vehicle reliability, inventory availability, and customer satisfaction. By increasing available inventory, you will assist more customers in finding their ideal vehicles.
  • You will help customers maintain their vehicles and provide swift service, ensuring they can return to the road safely and promptly.
  • Your role will be crucial in maintaining customer trust, enabling the accounts department to collect on loans without complications, and enhancing our customers' credit scores.
  • Ultimately, you will contribute to our company's mission of empowering credit-challenged individuals with dependable transportation and essential tools for financial stability.

Qualifications:

  • A strong emphasis on diagnostics and electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience of 2 years, though a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Possession of personal general tools is required.
  • Dependable and punctual with a clean driving record (must possess a valid driver's license).
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Maintain an energetic and positive demeanor.
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

The shop spans 4,900 square feet, equipped with 6 lifts and 4 service bays. It features a newly renovated workspace with heating and cooling systems.

This full-time position requires standard working hours, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime based on business needs. The role primarily operates within a service department of a car dealership and may involve some driving.

The environment is fast-paced, necessitating standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy items. You will encounter noise, chemicals, and various weather conditions. Interaction with customers and team members in a service-oriented setting is also expected.
