Med Surg LPN Dedicated Education Unit

Mercy Fort Smith's Med Surg Service Line is a dynamic and patient-centered environment that offers a unique opportunity for LPNs to grow and develop their skills. Our Med Surg units provide care to patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs, and our nurses are cross-trained to provide a strong foundational knowledge of all types of patient conditions.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN to join our Med Surg team as a Dedicated Education Unit nurse. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our nursing students and provide guidance and support as they develop their skills. You will also have the chance to work with a variety of patient populations and develop your expertise in med surg care.

Unit Details
  • Bed numbers: 18 beds
  • Number of Patient Ratio: 4:1 & 6:1
  • Patient Population: tele and med/surg
  • This unit will become an educational unit with the opportunity to precept nursing students
Incentives

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support Certification through an American Heart Association approved program
