Position Overview

The role of an Automotive Valet Specialist involves supporting the Vehicle Logistics Coordinator in managing the movement of both new and pre-owned vehicles within the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan facility.

Key Responsibilities

New Vehicle Management:

  • Facilitate vehicle shipments to and from the dealership, adhering to established schedules.
  • Serve as a backup for the Central Dispatch Logistics Supervisor.
  • Assist in various activities including off-site product presentations, deliveries, lease returns, and trades to the NJ Prep Center.
  • Coordinate with truckers for wholesale car dispositions and manage off-brand lease returns with the valet team.
  • Ensure all vehicles are staged and displayed appropriately in showrooms.

Pre-Owned Vehicle Management:

  • Collaborate with the Pre-owned Sales Manager to identify vehicles not being purchased and arrange their return to the Prep Center.
  • Oversee the staging and display of vehicles in the pre-owned showroom.
  • Assess the condition of lease returns and report findings to the Pre-owned department.
  • Utilize checklists for G status vehicles and provide necessary documentation to the Pre-owned Service Advisor.
  • Mark all vehicles being transported to NJ with the appropriate date.
  • Print and place Carfaxes in the glove compartments of relevant vehicles.
  • Follow Key System protocols as per Keyper guidelines.
  • Install necessary inspection and warranty stickers, as well as operational manuals and window stickers.
  • Ensure that all vehicles returned from NJ are detailed, tagged, and prepared for delivery.
  • Conduct final quality checks and inform the Pre-owned Sales Manager regarding vehicle status updates.
  • Position sold vehicles in designated delivery areas.
  • Maintain the ability to commute into and out of Manhattan on a daily basis.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a dealership environment.
