Job Summary

As a member of the Cardiac/Stroke Unit team at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your skills in cardiac care and stroke management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and admit patients, conducting thorough evaluations to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to meet patient needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including communication with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN preferred)
  • Current RN licensure in North Carolina or Virginia
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire
  • Experience in cardiac care and stroke management (preferred)
