Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to ensure that designated areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and appealing manner, adhering to established protocols and directives from supervisors. It is essential to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
• Capability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and make informed decisions.
• Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, and the public.
• Compassion and a genuine desire to assist the elderly and understand their unique needs.
• Flexibility to work full or part-time on a regular schedule, including on-call duties as necessary.
• Compliance with all state health regulations.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Functions:

• Adhere to the cleaning schedule and follow instructions from supervisors, covering resident rooms, offices, and communal areas.
• Conduct sweeping and vacuuming of all assigned spaces.
• Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, and heating/air conditioning units in resident rooms and public areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows and mirrors throughout the facility.
• Wash, wipe, dust, and disinfect walls and ceilings as required.
• Ensure hallways, stairways, and elevators are kept clean.
• Empty waste receptacles regularly.
• Report maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Notify supervisors of any unsafe conditions or necessary repairs.
• Prepare model rooms for incoming residents.
• Assist with laundry duties as directed, including linens and personal items.
• Maintain cleanliness in janitor closets and supply rooms.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as requested.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
