Job Summary

UROPARTNERS LLC is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for administering accurate radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the radiation oncologist's prescription and plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments utilizing a linear accelerator and assist in patient simulation.
  • Accurately set treatment parameters and record proper documentation of all treatments and procedures.
  • Perform daily quality assurance and warm-up procedures on the treatment unit.
  • Schedule and coordinate daily treatments and other appointments.
  • Monitor patients' well-being over treatment and provide patient education as needed.
  • Observe patients for evidence of complications and report to the physician as appropriate.
  • Coordinate patients' daily radiation therapy appointments and CT scans.
  • Handle daily and weekly filming for treatment purposes and verification.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with professional development and continuing education.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) is preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years' experience preferred.
  • ARRT Registered
  • IEMA Licensed
  • BLS for the Healthcare Provider
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand, and walk and use their hands to complete various tasks. The employee is frequently required to react quickly with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally need to use their taste and smell and frequently need to talk and hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to clearly see multiple monitors simultaneously and have strong depth perception for patient safety.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to extreme outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, including cerrobend used for electron blocking fabrication. The employee will frequently work near moving mechanical parts. The employee will have a high risk of radiation as they are working in close proximity to radiation-emitting treatment unit. The employee will experience moderate noise, in relation to constant beeping and other noises emitted from the computer systems.
