Job Summary
At Middlesex Water Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Representative to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing day-to-day HR support to the organization, including recruiting efforts, benefits administration, payroll, and record-keeping. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role
The Human Resources Representative will assist with various HR-related tasks, including workers' compensation reporting, FMLA administration, and unemployment fact-finding. They will also ensure that corporate HR policies are followed throughout the organization and provide guidance on human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards as needed. In addition, this role will require staying up-to-date with changes in local and state legislation and maintaining detailed job descriptions.

Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting efforts
- Coordinate Workers Compensation Reporting and Administration
- Assist in implementing training and development plans for employees
- Update employee records in the Enterprise HRIS system
- Maintain detailed job descriptions
- Ensure Corporate HR policies are followed
- Explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards as needed
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in local and state legislation
- Administer FMLA and disability and keep tracking system updated
- Assist in unemployment fact findings and appeal hearings
- Maintain filing and purging old files for storage or shredding

Requirements
- Associate degree and minimum 5 years in Human Resources administration
- Proven work experience in a Human Resources role
- Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
- Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Skills related to interpersonal communication: listening, speaking, and writing
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Sound judgment
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in Word/Excel
- Ability to learn various Human Resources Information Systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
