EOPS Program Technician

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the EOPS Program Technician will identify, inform, and recruit students eligible for college programs and services. The incumbent will assist in the coordination of an assigned program, including the development of goals and objectives, recommending policy changes, and preparing required reports.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development of program goals and objectives
- Recommend policy changes and implementation procedures
- Prepare reports related to the assigned program
- Gather data, including calculating salaries and fringe benefits, projected numbers of students to be served, and expenditures for individual college programs
- Identify eligible students and provide information and assistance regarding the assigned program
- Conduct workshops on job placement and interview students to determine sites for job placement
- Arrange and conduct campus tours and department visitations for interested students
- Maintain contact and perform follow-ups with recruited students
- Provide orientation regarding the college to community groups, agencies, and institutions
- Assist in the completion of financial aid forms and monitor students through the financial aid process
- Assist students in completing applications to four-year colleges and follow-up with the appropriate counselor
- Establish and maintain contacts with public agencies and service-area schools
- Respond to written and verbal inquiries concerning the program
- Associate degree with coursework in behavioral science, business, or a related field
- Two years of experience in a student services area
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license
- Knowledge of program rules, regulations, and requirements
- Knowledge of support services available at the college
- Knowledge of financial aid functions and application procedures
- Knowledge of recruitment strategies and job placement strategies
- Ability to interpret, apply, and explain policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Ability to determine program eligibility based on applications and supporting documentation
- Ability to coordinate services and activities to recruit, retain, and assist students
Salary Range: $4,848.70 monthly
