Key Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership: Provide instructional leadership and guidance to students, ensuring they meet academic standards and achieve their full potential.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans, incorporating curriculum materials and educational software to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, secure, and effective learning environment, implementing standards for student behavior and providing clear expectations and consistency.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with special education teachers and other support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum, while maintaining regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems, and respond constructively to formal and informal feedback.
- Education and Certification: Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field, and meet state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements.
- Experience: Possess prior experience working in an education and/or classroom setting, with a preference for experience in alternative education and/or classroom settings.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, as well as advanced skills in working with staff and students with diverse needs at various levels.
