Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of products while meeting company and regulatory standards. This role involves overseeing a continuous quality improvement program, including quality control and quality assurance, and communicating quality results to the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage laboratory operations and activities.
  • Ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in product quality and process optimization.
  • Provide leadership in coaching, education, and training of management staff and plant employees for Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
  • Develop, facilitate, and maintain the aseptic products HACCP program.
  • Review product labels and ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Supervise chemical, bacteriological, sensory, and utilization tests on raw materials.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts through team meetings and on-the-floor leadership.
  • Communicate quality metrics, results, and inspection results to management and leadership.
  • Ensure proper sanitation procedures and adequate sanitation tests.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of quality tests and activities.
  • Lead local, state, customer/third-party, and federal audits and inspections.
  • Manage department budget, expense management, and control.
  • Ensure adherence to contract packaging quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as a change agent.
  • Lead by example with the Saputo Code of Ethics and apply the Saputo Values.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-based area of study and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory level experience.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation systems, techniques, and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of change management basics.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
