The Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Movement Disorder Clinical Manager has dual responsibilities of program leadership and clinical practice. This role requires a strong clinical background and leadership skills to provide expertise, collaboration, consultation, and mentorship to the team responsible for promoting evidence-based care of the deep brain stimulation and movement disorder patient population.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership, expertise, collaboration, consultation, and mentorship to the team responsible for promoting evidence-based care of the deep brain stimulation and movement disorder patient population.
- Support organizational goals and work with the Chief of Neurosurgery, Clinical Neurophysiologist, and the interdisciplinary clinical team to achieve optimal standards of care with measurable identified outcomes.
- Manage a group of clinically complex or resource-intensive patients and provide clinical care to patients impacted by movement disorders and neurologic conditions.
- Collaborate with clinicians to recruit top talent, create an environment that fosters team engagement, and maintain a competent team through education and evidence-based practice research activities.
- Manage the care of high-risk DBS and movement disorder patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in strategic planning and development of the DBS & Movement Disorder Program in alignment with long-term development goals of a growing neurosciences department.
- Collaborate with clinicians to ensure correct reimbursement and budget adherence, promote cost-effective use of organizational resources, and facilitate implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of action plans aimed to correct budget variances.
- Develop educational resource materials independently and in collaboration with other healthcare providers, function as a mentor, educational resource, consultant, for staff providing clinical expertise, and serve as a resource and support person for movement disorder patients and their family members.
- Participate in the development and recommendation of evidence-based practice identifying the goal and desired measurable outcomes, which may include clinical, financial, process/system, and patient/family satisfaction.
- Manage time and resources effectively by managing multiple priorities with appropriate delegation.
- Graduate of NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing
- Master's Degree
- >5 years of Experience as an APN
- >5 Years of Experience in Neuroscience specialty
- Advance Practice Nurse License
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
