Responsibilities:
- Provide medical assessments, treatments, and clearances for patients, team members, and external customers.
- Perform clinical care professionally, serving as a customer advocate and role model.
- Develop and implement appropriate plans of care, facilitating patient teaching and support programs.
- Evaluate current protocols and standards of care, supporting the development of evidenced-based practice protocols.
- Apply evidence and value-based practices to achieve positive outcomes for patients.
- Prescribe medications and/or recommend over-the-counter medications as appropriate.
- Initiate laboratory tests, immunizations, and diagnostic tests/procedures as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians and consult effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide accurate, systematic, and organized documentation of findings, recommendations, and education.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain documentation of personal development.
- Provide culturally diverse and educationally appropriate education in relation to patient care/needs.
- Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Participate in policy/procedure reviews for updating with current evidence-based and value-based practices.
- Act as a resource to staff for addressing clinical, process, and system opportunities for improvement.
- Promote a collaborative work environment that supports the organizational mission, behavior expectations, and values.
- Promote innovation within clinical practice by seeking opportunities to bring new clinical knowledge into practice.
- Identify ethical care issues and coordinate interdisciplinary collaborative meetings to resolve those issues.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
- Master's Degree.
- Maintains clinical competencies through participating in continuing educational programs and clinical practice as mandated by the Board of Nursing and national certification body.
- Experience in relevant patient care settings or as regulations dictate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
- Valid Driver's license.
Licenses and Certifications:
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Certification (with Master's Degree).
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
- CPR certification.
