Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation of meals by adhering to established recipes.
  2. Set up service areas and portion food items for distribution.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and ensure proper sanitation of floors and tables.
  4. Utilize various kitchen tools and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained.
  5. Monitor food and supply costs through effective stock management and portion control.
  6. Implement good nutritional practices in food preparation and service.
  7. Uphold standards of safety, sanitation, and food quality.
  8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  9. Oversee food service staff in the designated area.
  10. Assist management with inventory orders for food and supplies.
  11. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the community.
  12. Plan and coordinate food production efficiently.
  13. Maintain accurate food production records.
  14. Ensure appealing food presentation for customer service.
  15. Support the production and service of catered events.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and walk frequently throughout the day. The worker must be capable of operating in warm environments and possess manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools. Lifting materials weighing up to 46 pounds may be necessary, and climbing stairs could be required.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with demonstrated competence in the responsibilities outlined above.
