Job Summary:

This role supports the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UTHealth. The successful candidate will assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring research activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist Principal Investigators with pre- and post-award administration and coordination.
Analyze proposed grants and contracts for special conditions and restrictions, establishing controls as needed to ensure compliance.
Provide guidance to Principal Investigators and their staff on allowability and allocability of funds, counseling and disseminating information on granting agency guidelines.
Distribute contractual provisions and obligations to Principal Investigators, adjusting budgets as necessary to meet contract requirements.
Coordinate grant protocol with institutions involved in similar activities, developing progress plans with professional organizations relative to grant funding objectives.
Compile financial and personnel reports for grants and contracts at the departmental or school level, negotiating with agencies regarding contract renewal and overseeing proper close-out of grants and contracts.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Two years of experience in a related field.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with proficiency in database and spreadsheet software.

Work Environment:
