We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Solar Electrical Engineer to join our team at Facility Solutions Group. As a key member of our team, you will provide on-site technical support, oversee commissioning, and ensure proper interconnection of solar PV systems.

Responsibilities:
  • On-Site Support: Travel to various project sites to investigate the viability of interconnection, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems.
  • System Design and Optimization: Develop electrical designs for solar PV systems, including single-line diagrams, wiring layouts, and grounding schemes.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including inverters, wiring, grounding, and monitoring systems, to ensure reliable operation.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all electrical installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE).
  • Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with clients, utility representatives, and other stakeholders to provide technical support and project updates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in solar PV systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50% of the time) to various project sites across the country.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC), interconnection standards, and permitting processes.
  • Experience with solar design software (e.g. Helioscope) and electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
