Job Summary

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Specialist to join our team. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in occupational safety and health, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to identify and resolve safety concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, with a strong background in leadership and communication.
  • Certification as an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires regular attendance and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to work in a typical office environment, with occasional travel to job sites.
