JobsRUs is seeking several Contract Culinary Specialists to join our team.


Compensation:
$20.20 per hour

Working Hours:
7 AM - 3 PM

Position Summary:

The Culinary Specialist will skillfully and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a diverse range of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special Events.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook made-to-order meals that may require minimal preparation time.
  • May assist in food preparation and serve customers in an a la carte setting, potentially operating a grill station.
  • Ensure food is prepared in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards to guarantee high-quality service.
  • Follow food orders or verbal instructions from patrons to prepare and cook meals accordingly.
  • May produce batch items using fundamental cooking techniques.
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers consistently.
  • Adhere to recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items.
  • Prepare food under supervision by utilizing various kitchen equipment for measuring and mixing ingredients, as well as washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables.
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and maintain records to accurately plan production needs and requisition supplies.
  • May assist with inventory management, moving and lifting food items, and preparing meals for customers with special dietary needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment, adhering to all company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Follow established food safety protocols during food preparation and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Comply with all safety and risk management policies; report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Attend training sessions related to food safety and allergy awareness.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience and Knowledge:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cash-handling procedures is preferred.

Skills and Aptitude:
  • Present oneself in a professional manner, valuing honesty and ethics.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Build professional relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Possess a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment is essential.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes independently.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to see clearly at various distances and adjust focus.
  • Significant mobility is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Capability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily in an indoor environment, with potential outdoor supervision during events.
  • Varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and extended hours as necessary.
  • Controlled temperature environment, with exposure to heat/cold during outdoor activities.
  • Noise levels may range from moderate to loud.
