Job Summary

The Henry County Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Lead to join our healthcare IT team. As a critical member of the organization, this role combines expertise in healthcare, clinical workflows, and informatics to lead initiatives that enhance data-driven decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical informatics team, providing direction and oversight to ensure projects align with organizational goals and clinical best practices.
  • Optimize clinical information systems (such as EMRs, EHRs) to enhance usability and efficiency for staff.
  • Work closely with departments to analyze workflows and ensure that information systems support effective, patient-centered practices.
  • Establish and enforce standards for data quality, security, and privacy in compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).
  • Train clinical staff to ensure they understand and effectively use clinical information systems.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives by using clinical data to identify opportunities for improvement, develop metrics, and monitor outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical and technical teams, translating clinical needs into technical requirements.
  • Stay updated on trends in healthcare informatics and recommend new tools and methodologies to enhance clinical decision support and data integration.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting clinical information systems when the office is closed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical informatics or a related field within a healthcare setting.
  • 3+ years of experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Altera) and their implementation.
  • Experienced in leading cross-functional teams and managing clinical informatics projects.
  • Background in clinical practice (e.g., RN, pharmacy) is preferred.

Salary Range

$95,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
