Point Loma Nazarene University is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach courses in journalism, writing, and modern language. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field and a commitment to teaching excellence.
ResponsibilitiesThe adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses in a variety of subjects, including college composition, literature, foreign language, and journalism. The successful candidate will have knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching undergraduate level, including ways to instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students. The adjunct faculty member will also be responsible for writing syllabi and delivering illustrated lectures.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university. A doctorate is preferred. The successful candidate will also have a commitment to teaching excellence and a minimum of one year of teaching experience in higher education. Additionally, the adjunct faculty member will be able to successfully interact with students, other educators, and educational institution representatives in a professional manner.
Special InstructionsThe number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department. Please note that there may not be an adjunct position available at this time. When an opening becomes available, the department chair will contact the candidate for further dialogue and interviews.
