Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Clerk to join our team at Adams and Associates, Inc. The successful candidate will provide administrative and clinical medical services for the Wellness Department, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Wellness Department, including answering phone calls, greeting visitors and patients, scheduling appointments, processing and distributing mail, preparing reports, and maintaining medical records and related files.
- Conduct cursory medical tasks as directed by supervisor, including measuring and monitoring vital signs, recording patient history, performing basic lab tests, collecting lab specimens, and other authorized medical tasks as requested.
- Assist the Wellness Manager in coordinating medical, mental, and dental services for students.
- Maintain all student health records, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and properly filed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable laws and regulations regarding patient privacy and the maintenance of medical records.
- Perform first aid treatment, bedside patient care, and other wellness services as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment within Wellness Services.
- Produce quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
- Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
- Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
- Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
- Show respect and courtesy to students and hold them accountable for their actions and behavior.
- Provide quality services for students and ensure that quality is maintained and student needs are met.
- Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts.
- Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas, identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions.
- Work in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
- Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Advanced degrees preferred.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suites of applications required.
