Job Summary

Oracle Defunct is seeking a highly skilled Principal Linux Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Oracle Linux group, you will be responsible for developing and contributing to upstream Linux to support our engineered systems and Oracle Cloud infrastructure (OCI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Linux kernel patches and enhancements
  • Contribute to upstream Linux development
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on Linux-related projects
  • Advocate best practices for development, troubleshooting, and deployment
  • Write technical documents and presentations

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in Linux (or Unix) OS internals
  • 3+ years of software development experience on Linux or Unix systems
  • Ability to resolve bugs from debugging to deployment in production
  • Knowledge of Python, Go, and shell scripting
  • Experience with Linux software package management systems (rpm)
  • Understanding of cloud and container technologies
