Apex Systems is looking for an Audio Visual Support Specialist to assist a systems integrator that delivers IT services and solutions for both commercial and federal sectors.
Position: Audio Visual Service Technician
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area - based in Glen Burnie, MD (travel to various locations in the DMV area required)
Hours: Full-time, regular business hours
Compensation: $50,000/year plus comprehensive benefits
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary, including working in other areas to provide coverage for absences or to balance workloads.
- Troubleshooting system issues reported by users and performing necessary repairs.
- Managing customer-generated Help Desk tickets and addressing end-user requests.
- Escalating and tracking all advanced break-fix issues for resolution.
- Supporting and facilitating large presentations in classrooms or auditoriums.
- Managing inventory of spare systems and service stock.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in installing AV systems (including displays, wall plates, VTC codecs, cameras, cable routing, and testing).
- Demonstrated ability to manage the service ticketing system, responding to and closing tickets in accordance with SLA requirements. Documenting all service activities in the ticketing system.
- Skilled in operating and demonstrating system capabilities to end users for optimal performance during presentations and VTC calls.
- Conducting Quality Assurance testing and generating documentation on results.
- Able to configure standard system components to meet client specifications.
- Capable of working independently for AV testing and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in loading and testing control system code and DSP programming.
- Able to interpret AV CAD drawings and update with Red Lines; AutoCAD experience is advantageous.
- Conducting site surveys, managing inventory, and creating as-built documents for installed systems.
Education: High School Diploma required; Technical School Certification or Community College preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in AV installation, system operation, and maintenance.
