Job Summary
The Bilingual Education Specialist is responsible for developing a dynamic and inclusive educational framework that promotes learning and personal development among students. This role involves delivering instruction tailored to various grade levels while fostering strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. The educator is tasked with inspiring students to cultivate essential skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for a solid educational foundation. The specialist will report to and be assessed by the school principal.

Job Requirements
Required qualifications include:
  1. A valid teaching certificate with an endorsement in ELL, ESL, bilingual education, or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated content knowledge through:
    1. A degree or minor in the relevant subject area; or
    2. Passing scores on relevant subject assessments; or
    3. An endorsement in the relevant subject area.
Preferred qualifications include:
  1. A bilingual background in English and another language.
  2. Experience with diverse teaching methodologies for English Language Learners (ELL).
  3. Proficiency in a language other than English.
Essential Job Functions
The successful candidate will:
  1. Administer assessments for ELL students and analyze data to inform instruction.
  2. Identify individual student competencies and learning preferences.
  3. Design tailored instructional plans for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.
  4. Monitor and evaluate student progress within the program.
  5. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  6. Align ELL curriculum with established performance standards.
  7. Organize multicultural events to enhance school community engagement.
  8. Serve as a liaison between schools and the Bilingual Education Program.
  9. Develop a program of study that caters to the unique needs and interests of students.
  10. Implement district-approved curriculum for limited English proficient students.
  11. Articulate a personal educational philosophy and its application in practice.
  12. Establish and uphold standards of student behavior to create an effective learning environment.
  13. Utilize current technology to enhance teaching and maintain records.
  14. Evaluate student learning and growth, maintaining accurate records and progress reports.
  15. Create a supportive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation.
  16. Engage with parents and the community to foster educational partnerships.
Physical /Mental Demands
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and interaction with students. The educator must manage stress effectively while working with diverse populations in a dynamic environment.

The position is situated in a professional setting that involves collaboration with a variety of individuals with differing roles and backgrounds.
