Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading a team of skilled trade personnel in the fabrication, assembly, and testing processes for new ship construction. The General Foreman will oversee a crew of approximately 20 personnel and up to 6 Foremen, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall Safety, Cost Productivity, and Schedule Performance
  • Builds trust and unit cohesion through honesty, fairness, and respect
  • Evaluating skill sets and defines training needs for the crew and Foremen
  • Maintaining strict discipline and adherence to Safety and Security policies
  • Enforcing company policies and work rules
  • Following company Work Instructions and Standard Operation Procedures
  • Driving LEAN Manufacturing and 5S Principles to improve productivity and performance
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of trade experience in a manufacturing environment and 3 years of management experience
  • Experience with systems such as EVMS, Baan, or Time and Attendance software
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in a manufacturing or shipbuilding environment
