As a Registered Nurse in our Gynecologic Oncology Department, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team, providing comprehensive care to patients and their families facing complex health challenges.
Role Overview:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess experience in administering chemotherapy treatments and will be required to travel between various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and maintain a broad scope of practice.
- Manage clinic operations effectively, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop nursing care plans based on critical thinking.
- Implement care plans and oversee the work of other nursing staff.
- Initiate orders for prescriptions and lab tests as necessary.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and recovery strategies.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and escalate critical issues promptly.
- Coordinate care and refer patients to appropriate services as needed.
- Perform triage to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate care.
- Advocate for patients' health and safety while maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide leadership and support to team members.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Texas Registered Nurse licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.

This position may involve security-sensitive responsibilities as outlined by Texas Education Code regulations. Candidates with military backgrounds related to nursing are encouraged to apply. Employees must reside in Texas to be eligible for this position.
