Job Summary:

The Optimum Oral Surgery Group is seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care by properly processing and sterilizing all medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
  2. Manually cleaning supplies of contaminants and operating and maintaining decontamination equipment.
  3. Preparing and packaging decontaminated supplies for sterilization and examining them meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  4. Routinely testing and reporting any issues or problems with sterilization equipment.
  5. Sterilizing, prepping, wrapping, and organizing equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
  6. Preparing and delivering all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures.
  7. Maintaining records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
  8. Monitoring inventory and supplies.

Requirements:
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution is preferred.
