Role Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician who will assist pharmacists in the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications. This role operates under the guidance of a licensed Pharmacist.
Shift Differentials:
- Weekday Evening: 10%
- Weekday Night: 10%
- Weekend Day: 5%
- Weekend Evening: 15%
- Weekend Night: 15%
This position is eligible for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, offering $5000 in commitment incentives distributed over two years, with payments made at six months, one year, and two years of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in IV Preparation
- Proficient in mixing and compounding IV medications using a Laminar Flow Hood or Biological Safety Cabinet
- Adhere to best practices as outlined in USP standards
- Conduct pharmaceutical infusion compounding tasks
- Maintain sanitation and tracking of infusion equipment and the IV room
- Perform cleaning and sterilization of equipment, instruments, and cleanroom according to established protocols
- Successfully complete annual proficiency and certification evaluations: gowning, aseptic technique, labeling, facility sanitation, and equipment cleaning
- Assist in setting up the compounding area, equipment, and supplies for the preparation of sterile compounded solutions using aseptic techniques.
Education Requirements:
No specific educational requirements, although completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA is also required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
