Position Title: Rotor Wing Aviation Pilot

Job Overview:

As a Rotor Wing Aviation Pilot, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of ensuring that both aircraft and meteorological conditions are suitable for the safe transport of medical personnel and patients to designated healthcare facilities within a specified operational region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate rotor wing aircraft in a secure and compliant manner.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm the aircraft's airworthiness, documented through the Daily Flight Log.
  • Exercise final authority over all aircraft operations, ensuring the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft and medical systems associated with backup aircraft utilized in the operational area.
  • Ensure that the medical flight team is well-acquainted and comfortable with the medical interior and systems of the aircraft.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Engage in meticulous flight planning, even on short notice, adhering to high standards.
  • Participate actively in company meetings, initiatives, projects, and community outreach efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  • Regular attendance is essential, adhering to company policies and practices.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential function effectively. The qualifications listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution, along with two to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Operational and Safety Standards:

As a member of the Flight Crew, candidates must maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be under seventy (70) years of age.

Required Skills:

  • Must have recent flight experience in category for a commercial operator or military within the last 24 months.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.

Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Program Requirements:

  • 2000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1500 flight hours in category.
  • 1000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in category.
  • 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time, including at least 50 hours at night.
  • 100 hours of unaided night flight as PIC (substitutions allowed for NVG time).
  • 50 hours of actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category (simulator time not applicable).

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for the category and class of aircraft.
  • ATP rating in category satisfies this requirement.
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate is mandatory.
