As a Pilot Rotor Wing Specialist with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise in aviation operations, Federal Aviation Regulations, and aeronautical safety protocols.

• Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to verify the airworthiness of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Air Methods policies.
• Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger safety, with a focus on minimizing risk and ensuring a smooth flight experience.
• Collaborate with medical flight teams to ensure a thorough understanding of aircraft and medical systems, promoting a safe and efficient transportation experience.
• Complete required documentation and participate in regular meetings, activities, and projects to support the success of Air Methods.

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
• Commercial and Instrument Rating for the category and class of aircraft, with a First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
• Minimum of 2000 total flight hours, with 1500 hours in the category and 1000 hours as Pilot-in-Command.
• 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time, with 200 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours of which were at night.
• 100 hours of unaided night flight time as Pilot-in-Command, with 50 hours of NVG time substitutable for 100 hours of unaided time.
• 50 hours of actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category.
