Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional IT Director to join our team at Ortho Rhode Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the information technology (IT) infrastructure and systems within our healthcare facility or organization.

The Regional IT Director will play a crucial role in ensuring that IT services align with our healthcare organization's objectives, comply with industry regulations, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our healthcare facility's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, Wi-Fi, VOIP, and hardware.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
  • Oversee IT projects, including software implementations, system upgrades, and technology rollouts, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Clinical System Integration
  • Manage the local implementation, maintenance, and optimization of electronic health record systems (EHR) to enhance patient data management and clinical workflows.
  • Configure and deploy IT and medical device equipment as well as manage inventory tracking.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to integrate and support healthcare applications and systems, such as PACS, CPOE, and laboratory systems.
IT Security and Compliance
  • Enforce IT governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and adherence to HIPAA requirements.
  • Stay updated on emerging healthcare IT trends and technologies.
User Support and Training
  • Provide user support and training to healthcare staff on IT systems and tools to enhance their efficiency and proficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT vendors and service providers to monitor service levels, process RMA, expedite escalations, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with healthcare executives, clinicians, and administrators to understand their IT needs and align IT strategies accordingly.
  • Communicate IT developments and issues to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Create internal and end-user IT training documentation for existing and new deployments or IT initiatives.
  • Identify and address performance issues and bottlenecks promptly.
Requirements
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT management, with a strong understanding of healthcare operations.
  • Relevant certifications, such as A+/Network + Certifications or ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), can be advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance, especially HIPAA.
  • Effective time management and organization to handle multiple project tasks and support tickets effectively.
  • Experience with user administration in Microsoft 365 products such as Windows 10/11, Exchange Online, Office, Intune, Azure Active Directory, etc.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of iPads and iOS.
  • Strong network connectivity troubleshooting with endpoints and IoT devices.
  • Fundamental understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and VLAN concepts.
  • Experience with Meraki switching/Wi-Fi and Webex calling/contact center a plus.
