We are seeking a highly skilled Central Processing Technician to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Central Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Clean, disinfect, decontaminate, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods, substances, and equipment.
- Receive, stock, package, and distribute medical instruments and equipment.
- Perform and document required quality assurance testing and inspection on stock. Inventories and reorders supplies.
- Properly dispose of biohazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and unusable equipment and supplies.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pass a nationally accredited central service exam within 18 months from hire date.
- Maintain one of the following: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).
- Sterile processing or hospital setting experience.
- Enrollment in a surgical tech/sterile processing program.
