We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Dialysis Patient Care Technician to join our team at Dialysis Clinic Inc. Our mission is to provide individualized care to patients with chronic kidney disease, and we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization.
About the RoleThe Dialysis Patient Care Technician will provide care to patients with end-stage renal disease, supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process. This role is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes for every patient.
Responsibilities- Actively participate in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities
- Guide new patients through a 120-day education plan
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
- Role under RN supervision
- Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
- Insert and remove patient access needles
- Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and inform charge nurse of any concerns
- Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
- Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly
- Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights
- Maintain and track inventory
- Perform laboratory work
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to collaborate with care teams
- Ability to problem solve
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, and/or phlebotomy skills desired
- Competitive pay range from $17.00-$23.49 per hour, depending on healthcare experience
