Job Overview

MISSION STATEMENT:

The position of a Nursing Supervisor at Resorts at Pooler entails delivering tailored nursing services to residents, ensuring compliance with care standards, and consistently providing exceptional resident care. The individual in this role must demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and supervisory skills to promote effective operations and high-quality care, while also supporting colleagues and recognizing team accomplishments. In addition to overseeing care quality, this role encompasses resource management and assisting others in the effective utilization of resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage in the orientation and training of new nursing staff and contribute to their ongoing professional development.
  • Establish and communicate shift responsibilities for nursing personnel, evaluate their performance, and ensure adherence to nursing protocols.
  • Assist with scheduling duties as needed.
  • Support the documentation process for new resident admissions as required.
  • Relay resident conditions, needs, and concerns to ancillary departments and nursing staff during shift transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with established departmental policies and procedures by all nursing personnel.
  • Keep the Director of Nursing and Unit Managers informed about staff, resident, family, and facility matters, and assist in problem-solving as necessary.
  • Review reports from prior shifts, following up on resident care and related matters as needed.
  • Assist in assessing the performance of nursing staff.
  • Investigate resident and family grievances and incidents.
  • Effectively manage available resources as a nursing supervisor, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and the delivery of quality care to residents.
  • Provide professional nursing care to residents.
  • Contribute to the development of written care plans and assessments for each resident, reviewing and updating as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents, consistently meeting their needs.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records, documentation, and charts of residents' medical treatments.
  • Adhere to established departmental, facility, and corporate policies and procedures, quality improvement initiatives, and safety standards.
  • Participate in training, educational sessions, and orientation programs to maintain licensure and enhance the quality of care.
  • Provide leadership to the nursing staff, fostering loyalty to the organization by setting a positive example.
  • Engage in any assigned or requested related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Jersey.
  • Previous experience in Long Term Care / Nursing Home / Nursing Facility / Sub-acute Rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Minimum of a Nursing degree from an accredited institution, and a graduate of an approved RN / LPN program.
  • Acceptance of Multi-State Licenses.
