Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II - Airport Technologies

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to join our Airport Baggage Handling engineering team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Project Engineer to develop mechanical designs, layouts, and commissioning plans for airport baggage handling projects.

  • Design and develop mechanical conveyor systems in AutoCAD 2D and 3D environments.
  • Prepare specifications, drawings, and process descriptions for manufacture, fabrication, and subcontract.
  • Design and select conveyor equipment, including power transmission equipment.
  • Order mechanical equipment and interface with purchasing and vendors.
  • Participate in testing and commercial installation and commissioning efforts.

Education and Experience:

  • BSME, BSMET, or relevant technical degree, or a combination of relevant work experience with industrial automation or material handling systems design.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
  • AutoCAD experience in 2D and 3D.
  • Experience with Inventor and material handling systems is preferred.

Demonstrated Physical Abilities:

Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Capability of maneuvering through an industrial conveyor system requiring climbing access ladders, negotiating catwalks, and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.
