Job Summary:
This role is dedicated to providing comprehensive nutritional evaluations, education, and counseling to clients enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, particularly focusing on those with medical vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough nutritional assessments and screenings to identify eligibility for nutritional support programs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a respectful and efficient experience for all clients.
- Collaborate with health support specialists to monitor the accuracy of growth assessments and nutritional data.
- Develop tailored nutritional care plans, setting specific, measurable goals for client health improvement.
- Document all client interactions and care plans in the designated electronic health record system promptly.
- Provide both individual and group nutrition education sessions, addressing the needs of low and high-risk clients.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for medically high-risk clients, including follow-up appointments and referrals.
- Promote breastfeeding initiatives and manage the distribution of necessary resources, such as breast pumps.
- Participate in community outreach and health fairs to enhance public awareness of nutritional programs.
- Maintain compliance with all state guidelines and organizational policies regarding client confidentiality and data security.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian and Florida Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in documentation.
- Excellent communication and counseling abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the WIC program.
- Background in nutrition education and counseling.
