Job Title: Housing Specialist

Are you passionate about helping young adults transition out of foster care and achieve stable housing? We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Housing Specialist to join our team at Communities Connected for Kids (CCK).

Job Summary:

The Housing Specialist will be responsible for identifying and securing affordable, safe, and community housing options for young adults transitioning out of foster care. This role will involve building relationships with local housing providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance the availability of housing resources. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and secure affordable, safe, and community housing options for young adults transitioning out of foster care
  • Build relationships with local housing providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance the availability of housing resources
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of youth's housing needs, preferences, and barriers
  • Develop individualized housing plans in collaboration with youth, incorporating goals for stability and self-sufficiency
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to youth in securing safe and affordable housing options
  • Advocate on behalf of youth with landlords, housing agencies, and community organizations to overcome housing barriers and ensure access to suitable accommodations
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in human services, social work, business administration, real estate, marketing, or related field from an accredited school or university
  • Experience working with youth aging out of foster care, vulnerable populations, or community housing
  • Knowledge of real estate, local housing resources, affordable housing programs, and landlord-tenant laws in Florida
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
