Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Support Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will work with participants with intellectual disabilities or other special needs, providing support with daily living activities, community inclusion, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Responsibilities- Assist participants with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility, as well as medication management and medical needs.
- Provide transportation and accompany participants to appointments and activities, such as doctor's appointments, therapy sessions, and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including progress notes and incident reports, to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Maintain consistent communication with families and other support group members to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Promote a safe space where participants can learn and grow, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met based on individualized plan goals and objectives.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of intellectual disabilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other special needs is a plus but not required.
- Compassionate and patient when working with participants with challenging behaviors or communication difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with participants, families, and other professionals.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including after-school hours, potential weekends, and school breaks if approved by the Developmental Disabilities Division.
At Full Life Hawaii, we offer our team members a wide range of benefits to support their growth and success. This is a part-time position with a starting rate of $20.00 per hour.
