Job Title: Rehabilitation Specialist

Sound Community Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Social Rehabilitation department, you will play a vital role in providing wrap-around services to individuals with mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders.

Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Specialist will facilitate virtual and in-person educational group activities, instruct members in various areas, and work with community-based resources to ensure access to resources. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person educational group activities to foster growth and independence
  • Instruct members in various areas, including virtual platforms and community resources
  • Work with community-based resources to ensure access to resources and services
  • Assist in coordination and implementation of new programs and services
  • Provide opportunities for measurement and improvement of consumer satisfaction
  • Attend monthly team meetings and supervision with the Rehabilitation Services Program Coordinator II
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of behavioral health/human services experience required
  • Previous experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses and/or substance use disorders preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Competent user of technology, including email, agency intranet, and electronic client record
  • Current valid driver's license required
  • CPR/First Aid certification or eligibility required
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and climb stairs
  • Regularly required to walk, talk, and/or hear
  • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes
  • Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include the ability to adjust focus
