Job Summary:
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is essential in aiding individuals through comprehensive nutritional evaluations and tailored dietary guidance. This role emphasizes relational care to foster supportive connections with clients. The specialist will manage a full caseload in an outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough nutritional assessments for each client
- Create personalized treatment strategies aligned with clients' objectives, considering their health status, dietary habits, financial constraints, and preferences
- Deliver individual and family nutrition education and counseling sessions as required
- Track client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to facilitate their journey
- Collaborate with the client's healthcare team to incorporate nutritional care into comprehensive treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Stay updated on the latest nutrition research and advancements to provide evidence-based care
- Engage in company meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Facilitate one clinical training session annually
- Comply with regulatory standards, including continuing education, privacy laws, and licensure requirements
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including communication timelines
- Strive to meet and uphold company performance standards, including productivity and client retention
- Support the onboarding and training of new dietitians and clinical interns by allowing them to observe clinical sessions and offering guidance
Essential Skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to build rapport with clients through a relational care approach
- Proficient presentation skills for group and educational sessions
- Effective time management and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, Electronic Medical Records, and other relevant platforms
Qualifications:
- Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), active and in good standing
- North Carolina State Licensure, active and in good standing
- Preferred: One year of clinical experience in a similar setting
- Eligible for or currently paneled with commercial insurance providers
Work Schedule:
- Flexible scheduling options available while meeting job requirements
- Some team members may work evenings or weekends to accommodate client and personal needs
- Full-time position requires 18 – 25 hours of client sessions weekly, totaling 30-40 work hours
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sedentary role with occasional movement throughout the office
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 25 pounds
