Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Department of Dermatology. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and under the direction of a physician to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews and compile comprehensive medical histories to inform health status assessments.
  • Perform physical examinations, noting normal and abnormal findings, and compile differential diagnoses.
  • Obtain and analyze patient specimens, run routine laboratory tests, and perform diagnostic procedures as required.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisory physicians and other professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Perform procedures such as biopsies, medical injections, and excisions while maintaining sterile techniques.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and family members on maintaining good health and disease prevention.
  • Stay current with continuing education programs to ensure knowledge of procedures, health care plans, and protocols.
  • Facilitate communication between teams and other consulting medical services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Certification by the NCCPA or similar national certifying body.
  • Completion of a CAAHEP certified Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure as a PA in the State of Maryland or other state where practicing.
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of one-year experience as a Dermatology PA.
