Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled EEG Technician Senior to join our Neurology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing EEGs, Nerve Conduction Studies, EMGs, and related exams with minimal supervision. Additionally, they will be responsible for physician billing, assisting with preliminary reports, and interpreting test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Quantitative EEG, EEG, Evoked Potentials, and Transcranial Doppler studies.
  • Set up, monitor, download, and edit raw data for long-term video EEG monitoring.
  • Perform EKGs using the Marquette MAC VU, 12, 8, and PC machines.
  • Conduct electrocardiograms for in-patient and outpatient populations, including all ages.
  • Perform routine EEGs and long-term video EEG monitoring for evaluation of possible abnormal brain activity and for epilepsy and medicine modification.
  • Conduct Transcranial Doppler studies for evaluation of cerebral blood flow.
  • Perform accurate Evoked Potential recording (Visual Evoked Responses, and Modified Baer).
  • Perform Holter monitor hookup and scanning of Holter monitor tapes.
  • Conduct 12 or 24-hour pneumogram hook-up with or without pulse oximetry for in-patient pediatrics and neonates.
  • Perform cardiac exercise treadmill testing, routine, and pharmacological and Tilt table stress.
  • Schedule all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department that require an appointment.
  • Maintain all diagnostic equipment by ensuring they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient.
  • Notify physician daily for exam interpretation and file reports.
  • Check weekly for needed supplies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of the Medical Assistant Program or one year of career-oriented college credits (24 credit hours) is preferred.
  • 2 years experience in performing EEG in a clinical setting is required.
  • 1 year experience with EKG/Stress testing preferred.
  • BLS required.
