Job Summary:

To administer and monitor General and Regional Anesthetics to patients at Froedtert Health under the direction and supervision of staff Anesthesiologists and the Director for Surgical Services and Anesthesia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administering and monitoring General and Regional Anesthetics to patients
  • Working under the direction and supervision of staff Anesthesiologists and the Director for Surgical Services and Anesthesia
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing is required. Graduate of accredited Nurse Anesthetist school is required.

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).

New hires and rehires after September 30, 2017 must possess and maintain an active Wisconsin State Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) License.

Staff within the 5 year recent graduate window of eligibility to apply for the APNP license will have 3 months to obtain a WI APNP license.

Staff outside of the 5 year window of eligibility to apply will have 1 year to complete the pharmacology requirements and obtain a WI APNP license.

National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification is required. Medicaid and Medicare (PECOS) enrollment is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within 90 days of hire.
