We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, providing and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Participate in the setup and cleanup of operating rooms, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and other tasks as needed.
- Graduate of a national accredited surgical technology program.
- Ability to obtain surgical technologist certification from a national certifying body within 18 months of program completion.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for prolonged periods and lifting heavy supplies as needed.
- Lifting and pulling of patients, heavy supplies, and pushing stretchers.
- Exposure to environmental hazards such as anesthetic gases or by-products.
- Exposure to radiation, hazardous chemicals, toxins, electrical hazards, and loud noises.
