Position Summary

The Retail Sales Specialist and Equipment Repair Technician is tasked with providing outstanding customer service while maintaining optimal inventory levels across all departments, with a particular emphasis on the outdoor power-tool section.

As needed, this role involves servicing and repairing all Stihl products in accordance with vendor warranties and guidelines, utilizing factory parts efficiently.


Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Represent the store positively and assist customers in resolving issues.
  • Welcome customers upon entry and express gratitude upon their departure.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, collaborating effectively with both customers and colleagues.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all calls and inquiries.
  • Address customer complaints, striving for resolutions that align with the store's interests.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge and familiarity with store layout.
  • Communicate service and repair timelines clearly to customers.
  • Execute the Stihl repair process, including warranty processing and claim submissions.

Store Operations:
  • Foster a professional and safe working environment for all staff.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the outdoor power department.
  • Manage product inventory levels to support store profitability in line with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to policies aimed at minimizing inventory shrinkage.
  • Direct preventative maintenance and repairs to safeguard physical assets.
  • Supervise the receiving, stocking, and organization of merchandise.
  • Maintain back stock levels effectively.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness across the sales floor and stock areas.
  • Assist with overall store maintenance.
  • Ensure safe and efficient forklift operations.
  • Oversee the implementation of weekly price changes and monthly inventory counts.
  • Ensure that signage throughout the store is current and accurate.
  • Maintain a tidy sales floor, including end caps and promotional displays.
  • Ensure proper handling of special orders and rain-checks.
  • Prepare promotional signage and products for customer access.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
  • Training in small engine repair or related fields is advantageous.

Experience:
  • Previous retail experience is essential.
  • Experience with Stihl gas products is a plus (bronze or silver training).
  • Small engine repair experience is required, including chainsaws, pole-saws, hedge-trimmers, lawnmowers, pruners, snowblowers, and leaf-blowers.
  • Willingness to complete Stihl certification training is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and climb as needed.
