Key Responsibilities- Develop and teach courses for the Subject Matter Preparation Program-Physical Education (SMPP-PE), Single-Subject Credential Program, and the pedagogy track in the Kinesiology graduate program.
- Conduct research and produce scholarship in the field of physical education and teacher education.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and advance the accredited program.
- Supervise and coordinate teacher candidate placements in public schools.
- Establish and maintain affiliations with mentor teachers in local school districts.
- Collaborate with educational and political agencies in public school physical education advocacy.
- Terminal degree in physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related area.
- Teaching credential/license/certificate in physical education, or equivalent experience in educator preparation, or physical education teaching experiences in K-12 schools.
- Demonstrated ability/potential to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate education to a diverse student population.
- A promising record of scholarly accomplishments and a clearly defined research line relevant to physical education, teacher education, physical activity and health promotion, or other related areas.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching, scholarship, and/or service.
- University-level teaching experiences in courses related to teacher education or kinesiology.
- Record of scholarly or service activities addressing diversity, inclusion, and equity issues in physical education, teacher education, or physical activity settings.
- Record of developing/obtaining grants and external funding.
- Record of professional leadership or service in the university, or state or national professional organizations.
